A poet is like a letter in a bottle

Tossed to and fro through the oceans of life,

Enduring some scrapes and scratches along the way

Yet everything inside stays in place.

It's protected;

Sealed in purpose until the message reaches its destination.

Her life

Given a unique sound;

The labor of living for humanity's gain.

Through smiles, through frowns

She writes to make palatable humanity's pain.

And that which she cannot speak,

She lives out loud.
